What Happens After You Pay: Tracking a Cartly Hub Order From Placed to Delivered
17 October 2026A lot of buyer anxiety about online shopping isn't about the payment itself — it's about what happens in the silence afterward. Did the seller see it? Are they preparing it? Is it actually coming? Cartly Hub tracks every order through four stages, so you're not guessing.
The four stages
- Placed — your order has been saved the moment you complete checkout, whether you paid online or arranged payment over WhatsApp. The seller is notified immediately.
- Paid — confirms the payment side is settled. For Paystack orders this happens automatically; for WhatsApp orders it updates once you and the seller have confirmed payment between yourselves.
- Shipped — the seller has dispatched or handed off your item for delivery. This is the stage to watch if you were given a delivery window — it should move here before that window runs out.
- Delivered — the order is complete. This is also when it's worth checking the item matches what you ordered before you consider the transaction fully closed.
Where to actually check it
Your order history shows the current stage for every purchase, so you don't need to message the seller just to ask "is it coming?" — check the order first. If it's genuinely stuck at "Placed" or "Paid" well past when the seller said they'd ship, that's the point to reach out directly, with the specific order in front of you rather than a vague "where's my stuff."
Save things first, decide later
If you're browsing and not ready to buy yet, wishlisting an item keeps it somewhere you'll actually find it again, instead of trying to remember which seller had the thing you liked three days ago. It costs nothing and doesn't commit you to anything — it just means the item, and its current price, is one tap away when you are ready.
If an order genuinely stalls
Most delays are ordinary — a seller waiting on stock, a delivery running late. But if a seller goes fully unresponsive after payment with no update at all, that's different from a normal delay, and it's worth escalating. See safety tips for what to do next, and keep the order record itself — it's the thing that makes a dispute resolvable instead of just your word against theirs.
